The Lancaster Soccer Complex is a 35 field complex designed for soccer but can be used for Lacrosse, Cross Country and any sport requiring large open spaces. The complex is fully staffed and maintained to meet the FIFA specifications for turf quality. As the largest complex in the west the Soccer complex has been designated as an official So Cal venue and hosts teams and tournaments from all over the United States. |

The Big 8 Softball Complex in Lancaster hosts teams from around the country for championship tournaments. The complex has 8 identical 300ft fenced fields. The fields have perennial/blue rye outfields, with skinned infields. All fields have electronic scoreboards and championship lighting. Located ins Lancaster City Park the complex also has batting cages, on site concession, children's playground, picnic shelters, and tennis courts. The complex is centrally located close to lodging and restaurants. |
Catch a race at the 2.5 mile road race track at Willow Springs International Raceway. It has racing almost every weekend, and it is a short 20 minute drive north of the Inn of Lancaster. Ask at the front desk for directions. |

While in Lancaster visit the SR-71 Blackbird Air Park in Palmdale near the FAA facility on Avenue "P". Also at the park are fames jet aircraft from the Vietnam era, such as an F105G "Wild Weasel",F-100 Super Sabre , D-21 Drone which was carried atop of the SR-71. Or visit the Aerospace Walk of Honor on Lancaster Boulevard and the Historical Foundation Air Force Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. |
Joe Davies Heritage Air Park Museum at Plant 42 hosts 16 aircraft on static display as well as components from various aircraft. Plant 42 is a federally owned military aerospace facility under control of the USAF. Major aerospace companies are located here including Boeing, Lockheed Martin (Skunk works) and Northrop Grunman. These companies design, service, modify and repair our Nation's aircraft. Prior aircraft projects include the Space Shuttle final assembly and modifications, Lockheed L1011 Tri-Star, B-1 Bomber, XB-70 Valkyrie, B-52 bomber, U-2, X-15, and the SR-71 Blackbird. Current projects include the B-2 Spirit, F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning 11, F-117A Nighthawk, and RQ-4 Global Hawk. |
Edwards Air Force Base is designated as the Air Force Flight Test Center. Edwards is home to the 412th Test Wing, the United States Air Force Test Pilot School and NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center. Almost every military aircraft since the 1950s has been at least partially tested at EAFB. As a result, Edwards has been the site of many aviation breakthroughs. Adjacent to Edwards is Rogers Dry Lake Bed which provides a natural extension to Edwards's runways. The first space shuttle missions saw the shuttles landing at this site. In recent years the shuttle only lands at Edwards when weather conditions at the Cape won't allow a Florida landing. Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier for the first time at Edwards in the Bell X-1. Also, Edwards was the home of the 1986 around the world flight of the Rutan Voyager. |

The Antelope Valley Fair Grounds hosts the annual AV Fair at the end of August every year through Labor Day. Fair entertainment includes nightly concerts from the top names in rock and country music, the rural Olympics, a rodeo, and the popular demolition derby. The fairgrounds also have banquet halls for private functions such as weddings as well as catering. You will also find the Turf Club for horse racing and off-track satellite betting. The fairgrounds hosts public events such as the Home and Garden Show, Bridal Show, Gem and Mineral Show and the twice yearly flea market, which has become one of the biggest in the state, drawing sellers from all over the country. |
The Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) was opened in 1991. The center is beautifully designed, with a state of the art sound system. The Antelope Valley Mall located in Palmdale, CA is an indoor shopping mall with approximately 140 stores anchored by Macy's, Dillards, JC Penney's and Sears. The mall has close to 1 million sq ft of shopping. You will find all your favorite stores under one roof. The mall also has a great food court with many cuisines to choose from. Antelope Valley College opened its doors in 1929. The sprawling campus covers 135 acres. Associates degrees are offered in Agriculture, Arts & Humanities, Business, Communication & Media, Education, Engineering, Health & Medical, Skilled Trades, Technology, Technicians plus many more. The college has extensive sports programs for both male and female students. The college has an average enrollment of 15,000 students per semester. Presently the college is undergoing major changes with a new theater building in 2009 and a new Health and Science building in 2010. |
The Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve draws guests from around the world. There are 8 miles of trails, some paved for wheelchair access. The trails have benches so you can relax and enjoy the view or keep an eye out for desert wildlife. The reserve is open year round; however, the season usually runs from February - May. |

The Prime Desert Woodland Preserve is a 100 acre area nestled within an urban setting and provides visitors an opportunity to learn about the animals, plants and the region of our high desert community. This area was set aside to protect the exceptional stands of desert vegetation. Visitors are welcome to walk the 3 miles of trails, as well as simply relax & enjoy nature. The Preserve has an area of about 100 acres with over three miles of trails. The trails are marked with information signs and have benches to sit and relax or just enjoy the scenery. |
The Devil's Punchbowl consists of 1,310 acres and is a deep canyon cut by water run-off from the San Gabriel Mtns. The mountain peaks above are 8,000ft and the 40 acre nature center is at 4,740ft. The canyon is 300ft deep at Vista point. Enjoy a day hiking on any of the numerous trails. The short trail is 1/3 mile and only takes a few minutes to read the brochure and walk the distance. The loop trail is a strenuous 1 mile hike with a 300ft drop into the canyon and then back to the parking lot. A much longer trail to Devil's chair is 3.7 miles each way or about 71/2 total miles and takes about 4 hours. |

Apollo County Park hosts 3 interconnecting lakes for fishing. The lake is stocked with trout in winter to early spring and catfish in the summer. You will also find bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie and carp in the waters. The lakes are home to many ducks that are friendly and will eat right out of your hand. They have been known to greet guests in the parking lot as they exit their cars. The park has playgrounds, and picnic areas. The park is named after the Apollo Spacecraft and has a mock up of an Apollo Space Capsule from the Smithsonian.

Littlerock Dam and Recreation Area has been a favorite of locals for many years. This area has camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, and swimming. The lake is stocked by DFG 11/24/08 through 1/1/2010. Off Road Vehicles are permitted sunup to sundown in marked areas only. Fishing license and Wilderness Pass required. |

Dry Town Water Park in nearby Palmdale offers family fun on a hot desert summer day. Careen down slides as tall as 3 stories, reaching speeds as fast as 30mph and splash into the relaxing pool. Just 9 miles north of Lancaster spend an afternoon at the Rosamond Feline Compound. The compound is home to 70 endangered felines. It is a breeding zoo and research center. Peacocks roam the ground freely. Really a great destination for a family outing.

Just a short drive from Lancaster you will find skiing and snowboarding at Mountain High Ski Resort in the San Gabriel Mountains. St Andrews Abbey in Valleyermo sits in the foothills at an elevation of 3,600 feet. St. Andrew's Abbey is a Roman Catholic Benedictine Monastery.
